5/14/2016 I had taken my car to another Car Repair Service in my area. I had the brakes done on a Mazda CX-7 with only 80,000 miles on it. It required all 4 rotors be replaced and one front tie rod. $1,300 dollars and one year later I had a shimmy in my front end. I had just had my tires rotated. When I called this service they insisted it couldn't be their work and said it must be my tires. I then went back and got my tires rotated. I had a engine warning light on intermittently. I went to O'Reilly for that free diagnostic. It said EGR sensor. When I called Mazda they said that will be $700. Yikes. Since I was reluctant to spend that much and the engine warning light wasnt staying on I put off doing it. Recently the light stayed on and my engine started idling roughly. In addition the shimmy in my front end had gotten much worse. I looked up all the local car repair guys and found Honest 1 Auto care. I dropped in to discuss all this. When I told them about the free diagnostic they said they were often inaccurate even though they were free. They also said it sounded like I had warped rotors but they would have to check the car out to be sure. I was reluctant to spend the money for the diagnostic and skeptical. As it turns out their professional level diagnostic found not only was my egr sensor bad but my oxygen sensor was bad as well. Score one for Honest 1. Even though my former auto repair guys insisted it wasn't their work, it turns out those rotors they replaced had in fact warped, and along with the other tie rod going bad, this accounted for the "death wobble". My Mechanic Jordan a 20 year Master Mechanic, not only figured all that out, he also noticed my engines throttle body was leaking slightly. He didn't try to pressure me into a repair on the spot but simply advised me too keep him informed, and he would repair it when it became necessary. Things I liked about Honest 1 especially compared to others I've tried are #1 Their name is not a come on but its actually true. How rare is that ? Their Customer waiting area is huge and they provide not only free wi fi but cable, water, and a coffee stand that looks like they stole it from SA ! Most important in all of this is that the are very very careful, not to get a customer in their shop for something, give them a quote, then surprise, start adding on hundreds of dollar in additional costs. I was informed every step of the way. To anyone my age, (I'm 60) these guys have old fashioned manners their exceedingly polite. Please give my highest marks to Chris & Jeff & and one very sharp Master Mechanic, Jordon. This is the only place I will go for any work on my car. Kevin Neal Weaver U.S. Army Veteran 5/14/2016 In addition to the great service I have already commented on, I have one more thing to add, not only did they identify the problem where my former garage denied responsibility, they checked my paperwork with my former garage and told me I still had 1 year left on my brakes & rotor warranty. They give you 3 years by the way, not just 2 years on the same work. I took the car back and drove away with brand new rotors for free ! So instead of offering to replace the warped rotors themselves they actually saved me hundreds of dollars. How about that ?!
