My girlfriends Jeep was sputtering and I used my decoder to see that it was a fuel injector. I brought it to Honest Auto and they charged me $130 to diagnose and give me an estimate of $1800 for replacing a fuel injector, all the spark plugs and clean out the cylinders. I decided to take it somewhere else (highly recommended)and they told me all the spark plugs were still really good and the cylinders were clean so that didn't have to be done at all. I got it done for a third the price that "honest" auto quoted me. I've brought our cars Honest for quite a few things because it was convenient but now I know they are price gouging so I won't be going back.
Hi Tim- thank you for taking time to leave us feedback. We confirmed during our diagnosis that you had a failed injector and pulled the cylinder #1 spark plug and confirmed it was burned from it firing with no fuel present. We also recommended a 2 step fuel system cleaning service which cleans your injectors, intake, and combustion chamber. It doesn't clean they cylinders. We pride ourselves in doing a complete service that is right the first time- we don't take shortcuts or do bandaid fixes so we can firmly stand behind all our work and recommendations with a 3 year/36k mile warranty, complimentary roadside assistance, and offer free loaner cars. We hope you're happy with your budget mechanic. Thank you again for your feedback and have a great day!
